I'm having trouble with the removal of the pitman arm on my 94 bronco. There isn't enough spacing to use the pitman arm puller, and I really don't want to use any heating. Is there any other way to remove the arm?? help please....

A standard 2-1/2" wide puller should work, but you sometimes have to maneuver it just right to get it to hold. A 3-arm pulley puller may also work, if it's a bigger arm like my Skyjacker was. It often takes both the puller AND heat to remove the arm, as it presses onto the splined shaft as it's tightened. You can pound on it all day long with a big hammer with no results otherwise. That's not good, as it often damages the lower seal and then the gearbox leaks. Soaking it with PB or a good penetrating oil for a few days may help, if the puller and heat don't work. If you have a pickle fork wide enough, that may work, too. JSM84
