I just picked up a 78 Bronco with the rear glass not operational. I have cleaned the contacts on the front switch that did not ohm out properly, replaced the relay that buzzed. I now have switched up and down 12V power to every connector just like the diagram but the window does not operate. The motor goes up and down by applying power directly so I know it is good, I have a bad ground.

I have located the ground coming off the dash switch its good, where does the main harness ground? the diagrams show two grounds, I have not located the other, any ideas of the location?. I may have issues with my ignition switch as well, I can wiggle the key and make the window relay buzz, is it possible that they share a ground?

yo polster,

WELCOME!

79 Ford Bronco Wiring Manual by topsig at http://www.supermotors.net/registry/24302/83503

See Ground and Connector Locations

G701 is @ dash Y frame. On later years I believe it is Behind IP near RH side of radio

also see troubleshooting

I see an "Accessory Relay" in the diagram; see if you can trace it to other devices.

Test Ignition switch; seabronco probably has the "Logic" Table or diy using wiring diagram, believe it is on page 11.

welcome to the zone >:D< <'>

Ground is via the front switch.

Note: the front switch must be in the center position for the rear switch to work.

miesk5's diagram should help you locate the problem.
