Hi, my husband started cutting out the rot around my door yesterday (82 bronco) and it was worse than we thought. Aside from the rotted sheet metal (easily fixable) the "rear cab mount" which looks rather like part of the frame to me is rotted all to ****. Is there a proper name for this thing? And if there is a name is it available anywhere? It is a piece of frame like material that goes sideways right behind/at the rear of the door and connects to the body mount. It is about a foot to 16 inches long.

Thanks for any assistance.

Carole

You're spot on calling it a body mount. You might be able to find one at Bronco Graveyard, or from a local salvage yard. the stock mount is riveted to the frame and will need to be bolted on when replaced. Check the other body mounts for rust, too, especially the front ones by the bumper. Also, check with folks parting out their rigs, might have one from my 88 Bronco, JSM84
