Thankx Yardape. But does that lead anyone to any possible fixes.
yo!

you have a CEL lit off? if so then Do the free DIY check that Seabronc suggested....

some scanners go for under $15.00 now or use a multimeter but the DIY DTC check is cheapest.

if you have codes, post them here...but I will offer you some pure guesses... TFI Module is shot due to reasons shown below.. there is a recall on it.

TFI Module Settlement, Howard v. Ford Motor Company

Distr mtd. pickup is shot to heck..maybe both by now...

Ford TFI Module Failure

1. Verify charging system operation; specifically, charging voltage.

2. Verify ignition system operation; specifically, there are no open or disconnected plug wires.

3. Remove distributor cap and inspect connections where TFI module hooks to the Hall Effect Switch connector. If there is any sign of deterioration at the connector, the Hall Effect pickup must be replaced. Crankcase vapors are forced into the distributor due to excessive crankcase pressure due to a worn engine or an improperly maintained PCV system. The crankcase vapors cause deterioration of the insulation around the connectors causing the module to short out.

Often stock TFI modules only partially fail when engine temperatures get warm, and the vehicle runs rough then dies. The vehicle then restarts, and runs for 20 seconds then dies again. This is a defect, which affected ALL TFI modules before 1995, although some do not seem to be very problematic (this is often causes codes 14 and 18).
