I have a 1979 bronco with 9 inches of lift. I have replaced the power steering pump, gearbox, drag link and all tie rod ends, and installed a drop pitman arm. The steering hangs at top center. No where else only at center. Any suggestions? I am thinking the adjustment for the sector shaft is too tight but thought I would get opinions before screwing with it.

Hi Reagan., welcome...!

"I am thinking the adjustment for the sector shaft is too tight but thought I would get opinions before screwing with it."

This is NOT an adj. *****.. /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

It's a factory "pre-load" .... if it's been tweeked in the past., that could very well be your problem.

For your safety & others., this should be checked by a trained individual.

But first., put it on jackstands & cycle (with a helper) full turns & see if it's hitting/binding anywhere. Also., try it with eng. off. Look close at the changes/new parts you installed.
