i came across some chevy 1 tons the other day and wanted to put them under my 78 but the front axle has a passenger side drop. my drivetrain is a 460/c-6/205. can i keep all that but make the 205 pass drop instead of drivers drop? if not what should i do as far as getting a t-case thats strong and will bolt up to a c-6?

The NP205 from a Chevy has the drop on the pasanger side of course. As for it bolting up to the C6, I'm not sure as the bolt pattern may be differant for the adapter. There is a lot more involved as well when switching side on you transfer case. Exhaust will have to be changed, the tranny cross memeber might have to be modified, moving the transfer case shifter around, starter interferance problems, steering set up, etc. Makes you wonder if it's really worth all the headaches to try the switch. I would look for a Dana 60 out of a Ford pick up and try swaping that over first.
