Just got this new '67 and wanted to confirm with you experts two things:

I can't see the guide any more on the transfer case shifter and want to confirm the pattern:

All the way forward = 4WD Low

1 Back = Neutral

2 Back = 2WD High

3 Back = 4WD High

Also, I understand this was the first year with shift on the fly 4WD. Is that really a good idea with this vehicle (with the benefit of 40 years experience)? What process do you recommend for sifting the transfer case, rolling slowly or stopped?

Thanks, Kirk

Coooorect......

"...first year with shift on the fly 4WD"

not that I'm aware of....

"What process do you recommend for shifting the transfer case, rolling slowly or stopped?"

Stopped.....& you may find it easier to un-lock hubs by backing up a bit in 4wd...

In my daily driver without a shift gate (lockout) I can actually get into and hold 2 low, 1 position back from 4 low.

66 was the first year for shift on the fly, and was also the first 4x4 with a fully synchronized transmission.

You should be able to shift in and out of 4wd at any speed. Just make sure you don't shift past 2 hi and into neutral, if you do you must come to a complete stop to shift back into gear.
