Ever since I was 7 years old I have wanted a Ford Bronco. I fell in love with the way they look and how rare it was to see one. Now, almost 13 years later I own a beautiful 1992 Bronco XLT with a 6 inch lift kit and 37 inche tires. I have close to no mechanical knowledge when it comes to vehicles, let alone the beautiful complexities of a Ford Bronco. The truck (which I have named Sheila due to her size and a small influence from a show) was a graduation gift from my grandparents since I have wanted one for so long.
Some of the things that have already been done are as follows;
- Engine has been swapped from the stock engine to something a little larger. What the new or old engine are is something I do not know yet. This was done professionally.
- Battery cables have been replaced as well as the Solenoid on the starter, due to me making a mistake and snapping one of the copper bolts on the Solenoid.
- Ingition Cylinder has been replaced due to a bad connection in the old cylinder. This was done by me.
- Rear U-joints have been replaced. They most likely had never been replaced. The old joints had disintegrated pin bearings.
There are a huge list of things I still need to fix on Sheila. Like;
- ALL window motors need replaced.
- Top of Speedometer is dim. Almost no backlight at all.
- Speaking of Speedometer, it now stopped working. Along with my Odometer. This happened because of a crossed wire when wiring in a new stereo.
- New stereo doesn't work either.
- Hard top has NEVER been removed, so I will need new seals for it if I ever decide to take it off.
- Transmission may or may not be cracked or leaking due to bad seals. But Sheila has been running fine for the last few months without losing any Transmission fluid.
Those are the biggest issue I still have to fix. Some being bigger than others. All varying in difficulty. But as I said, I am eager to learn and get her fixed up better than she has ever been. I will probably post about my most current projects on Sheila. The one with top priority is my Speedometer/Odometer. I have already created a post asking about those.
Thanks for listening to me ramble! Have a great day/night fellow Bronco Fans!
