Low Fuel Idiot Light

93 XLT 5.8 Newbie here...just got the truck this week and the gas gauge never leaves empty. Does this thing have a idiot light to tell me I'm about to run out of gas. I plan to trouble shoot the gauge later.

No, the trucks didn't get that till the 97 redesign. If the gauge stays on E it usually is an open or grounded circuit somewhere from the tank into the cluster. Have about 3 hours in searchin on the 92, but still haven't found it yet.

Bummer....it is on empty when I power up but moves to about a 1/4 tank after it is turned off for a while. So the little "gas pump" symbol in the gauge doesn't light up when the tank is low? I'm pretty good with a voltmeter...maybe I can find a open somewhere?

You are correct, like I said before, no fuel light till 97. My gauge does the same thing. Have fun....

when was wiring the dash on my 93 there is a light labeled fuel reset and has a bulb in it but i cant find any reference to it any where any ideas??
