does anybody know where i can find led light strips that work as both a brake and tail light? i'm not looking for the led bulb you plug in to the socket. my idea is using the same tail light assy and using about 50-100 led lights to be inside the tail light assy instead of the regular bulbs. plus i'm not wanting to go to euro style. if anybodies ran across anything like that could you let me know, thanks.

Ya thats cool and all but you have to make sure you check your local inspection laws I know here in Ma. they just changed a lot of the laws and you can no longer have after market lights front or back they have to be OEM factory

I like that no lights showing. I was thinking about doing something similar to mine since I just got a new tail gate with the red reflective panel. The red LED strip sold by LMC Truck could be mounted just under or over the panel.

So Stusainte, does that mean that you can't have a custom car in Ma? What was their dumb motivation for that law?

In case anyone has Cruise Control; "...LED's don't have a filliment that attaches one side to ground, so the cruise will not work if you use only LEDs for brake lights.

You would need a "dummy load" - you can use a light bulb somewhere in the system..."

Actually I believe that the brake knockoff for cruise control is a vacuum dump function. pre 93 vehicles that is all there was to disconnect the cruise when breaking. Later models added the brake pressure switch as a redundant method of disconnecting cruise control when breaking. I know for sure that pre87 will work properly with no break light involvement. If I recall correctly, a while back there was a recall because of that switch setting trucks on fire and the quick fix until new parts were available was to disconnect the switch.
