Key does not turn in key hole???

does anyone know why the key "will not" turn the door lock? I can manually lock and unlock the door, just not with the key.. Same issue with key hole in tailgate? any help would be appreciated.. thanx for the help

If you are using the ignition key, they are different.

thanx, but the only key i have been trying to use is the door key.... will not turn in any direction

Is it your door key or a neighbors??? Just kidding, does the key work in any door? It could be that youy key works in the drivers door but not the passenger or rear because someone swapped the door cylinder with a new one or one from a wrecking yard and it is not tumbled the same. You can take the cylinders to a locksmith and have them all keyed alike.
