I had a problem with my 87 ignition. The ignition rod was not going far enough down to switch the ignition switch into the start position. I took the steering column apart and found out that the lower acutater was broken. I read a few post and then came across this site that Chris put together on DIY lower acutater install. The part runs $13.94 at Ford. It usually breaks from pulling on the steering wheel when getting into the truck.

I found this last night. Very helpful!

Probably need to check with Chris Bradly to see if we can upload all of the pics to the site as a sticky.
