Any of the parts suppliers like Summit racing or Jeg's sell many models of scoops. I also found more by doing a Google search for hood scoops. I ended up buying a Mustang "Shaker" scoop, mounted it to my motor and cut a hole in my hood. I also came up with the two-tone paint scheme of medium blue and indigo blue. JSM84

I am a big fan of the Cervini dual ram air hood for the 92-96 body style. Check it out, looks sweet.

How hard was that shaker installation to do?? where did you get it at? Looks great. does it help the breathing on the motor? Switching to 306 carb and looking for a good way to help the ol' girl breath.

It took me about six months to design the adapter to mount the scoop to my 351W carb. I bought the Shaker scoop and assembly from Rare Spares in Victoria, Australia. It's actually for a 1970 Ford Falcon GT, but similar to our Mustangs and Torinos from that era of 70-71 when muscle cars ruled the day. Oh yeah, aside from looking cool when it shakes, it definitely helped the 351W H.O. breathe alot better!!! Since I blew up that motor and swapped to a 460, I'm working on modifying the Shaker to fit the big block. Check out my superford.orgr page in my profile, JSM84

I don't know about your truck but I know with my truck my motor is a couple inches off center of the truck, how did you get that to sit in the middle of the hood. I have a blower style air intake lieing around that was through the hood of a 73 plymyth satilite now that satilite has a roadrunner hood. I want to put it on my truck but don't know how to make an adapter to center it in the hood. (BTW I know you all have 80s and 90s and I am in the wrong forum with a 79 but anything would help)

Yes, my 351W was off center a couple inches, angled back toward the firewall, and several inches from the hood to the carb. I incorporated all of these into my secret shaker adapter to center the scoop in the hood where it would clear the cowl and the rear main support under the hood. JSM84

JSM84 I was thinking of mounting the scoop centered on the hood with a hole of course and having something meet up with it undernieth like the way ram air hoods work, sound good or am I asking for leaks and dirt bypassing the filter even if i used foam agaisnt the hood around the hole?

79, one of the reasons iwent with the Ford Falcon GT Shaker was the base mounted to the carb was the tallest of the models I looked at. IF you want to mount the Shaker scoop to that base, you'll have to modify the mid-plate adapter between the base and the scoop. I designed mine with a part of the air filter box from my 88 parts Bronco bolted to the original, 351W H.O. air cleaner lid. that lid was the same diameter as the Shaker base, so all I needed was to drill 3 holes to bolt it to the base. My design for the mid-plate adapter, size of the air inlet and prevention of water/dirt getting thru are the "Secret" part. I did fiberglass the adapter to seal it up as well as hide it from view. I have seen another set-up where the builder built a base=adapter out of fiberglass, then mounted a cone-type filter inside it .The scoop also mounts to the top of the custom "air box". That's basically how to keep it functional, by designing your own air box.

What I'm working on for my 460 as a temporary fix until i can design a new air box is to use a flat plate of sheetmetal on the underside of the hood, to which the Shaker scoop will be bolted.

Friend of mine has a 94 lightning with hood scoops. They also make cowl induction style for the 92-96 F150.
