Hello, I thought I could do some basic mantaince on the 96 bronco. But the 1st thing I tried to do is change the fuel filter and cant get the fuel lines off the filter. I bought the little tool from autozone, slid it between the male line from the filter and "wedged" :-& it between the fitting on the line from the tank. Just didnt seem to do a thing. I used a flat head scredriver to give it a little more leverage (behind the tool) still couldnt dislodge the fuel line from the filter. I didnt want to pry to much in fear I would damage something, so I gave up.

Please tell me I'm not a complete *****) and theres a trick to this. I cant believe performing this simply task should be this hard.

I'd like to take care of some of these maintaince things rather than always have'n to drop the truck off at the mechanic for routine mantaince.

Please help.

Ed

Miesk5,

I followed the link to your page, and found this one on your page, which was excellent!

You linked to this url with two different discriptions, but the link is broken.

You are a good man my friend.

Aparrantly there are a couple of different styles of clips.

This is the style that is on my '90 bronco.

They need to be removed before one can get the disconnect tool up inside the connector.
