I have a '92 full size bronco w/ 302 motor. The heater blows cold air only.

I have changed the t-stat and flushed the system

Before I replace the heater core, any suggestions?

Thanks,

Eddie

You can run the engine, locate the heater hoses, feel the temp of one, and then the other. Is one colder than the other? Changing the heater core is a simple and cheap job. While you are in there have a look at the weather stripping, there are a couple locations inside the heater box that require weather stripping. Make sure these are in good condition and seal properly.

Hi Guys I would think if the heater core was clogged you would feel a small amount of heat I would check to see if the damper door was opening where if it was't you would get no heat at all.

Have you ever had a clogged heater core? The coolant has to curculate in order for the heater to produce heat.

Yardape,

You were right on with the heater core diagnosis. Took about 45 minutes and now the heat works great.

Thanks,

Eddie

'92 bronco

Let me run this by you.

I have a tilt steering column with both hands on the wheel, I can jiggle the top section of the column. Is there an easy fix for this or should I take it to a mechanic? Seems like it could be worn bearings or something.

Thanks again.

Mine is pretty worn out too, I have just been living with it. I'm there is some sort of rebuild kit for I just havent got around to it. Mine is actualy stripped, You can tilt it without pulling the lever.
