Factory CB Install

Hey Guys,

I'm lookiing for info on the factory installed CB radio option for the 78/79 Bronco. My dad ordered one new for his '78, so I know they were available. I installed one in my '83 Full size and it worked quite well. My truck was subsequently stolen, and the thief disposed of my handset, which contains all of the controls for the radio, hidden away under the seat. (the thief didn't even know it had a hidden radio) Does anyone have one of these units, or is anyone aware of a handset that will interchange with the factory unit?

My dad ordered it from the factory. The "guts" of the radio were mounted under the passenger seat. the multi pin handpiece, complete with Ford logo, plugged in just under the ashtray on the dash, . I bought my '83 from a friend that also had one in his Bronco and had installed it in the '83.....

i believe that audiovox made them for ford and they are still availlable in some smaller cb shops

The CB's were installed under the seat in the pick-up trucks,

and behind the driver's side rear seat panel in the Broncos.

Those remote mics are very rare. Seems like they were regularly

stolen back when the trucks were new.

Your best bet is to list it on a 'parts wanted' Bronco website, or

do a search on eBay.

knew someone that had 3 stollen must have thaught that they were early cell phones or complete units sad since they are useless without the box
