The drivers side one ever did work. The passenger side worked but then one day decided to stay rolled down. Could this be a problem in the door switches? I checked all of the fuses and the motors are not locked up so can someone help me with this? Horribly cold here.

I have had similar problems in the past. The most likely problem is that the metal that completes the connection is worn down. I have used a file in the past and "roughed up" the metal to make contact in the switch. This is only a temporary answer, and won't last forever.

I'm talking about the actual switch on the door. In my case, it was an RX7. There was a thin metal ribbon material that flexed when the button was pushed. After time, it wore down and left a residue. It worked much better after it was filed. I would assume it could possibly be something similar with your bronc.

Most likely it is the plastic gear in the motor, try taking one of them apart. New gears are cheap at the parts store.

The motors are not getting power at all I have poked around with my test light and found no ocvious reasons why it wont work (I can excel with automobiles in all categories but wiring). Both motors were taken apart and cleaned gears were fine motors werent locked up they just arent getting power. Fuse that is not in the fuse panel maybe?

i have a simmalar problem in my bronco. i dissasembled the motor and found that the brushes were worn down and almost non existant. i just ordered the new motor on www.broncograveyard.com i'll let u know how it works when it UPS delivers it later this week.

if you tested everything and it works, but not getting power. the fuse be the first i'd check, which you stated you did. did you just pull the fuse and look at it or did you rerplace it? sometimes a fuse can blow and not look blown. turn your key on and with your test light besure your getting power thru both sides of the fuse at the fuse block. if that checks out ok. the next place to check would be the drivers side switch. usually most all the power routes thru that switch before heading to the pass. side. this should give you a good starting point. I learned most of this while robbing the wiring from a truck to start a power window swap on my 86. i can tell ya now if yours is around the 95 body style and the problem lies in the wiring between driver and pass. side door good luck my friend on tracing the wires becauce they dont just lay under the dash near the front, they run across the firewall neaar the top and you'll have to pull the dash and then some to get to the wiring. because if the wiring, and complete doors wasn't free so i could do my swap, i'd said forget it when i started robbing the wiring.

Mine is an 86, I talked to the previous owner and he said it was the wires on the drivers side, he also said it just used to have fits working sometimes and not others. Oh well might switch the ******** to manual.

since it's in the driver side try hitting a wrecking yard they have a disconnect right behind the kick pantle see if that'll fix ya trouble.

I'm like you with that hand powered windows. but on my everyday truck i figured i'd wire in power windows. plus with me doin it i'd know every route of the wiring ect. but my offroad trucks i want less power opts i can get. That'll be a next step taken the working factory A/C from my bronco and installing it in my 78 4x4 since i use it as a pull rig. the 78 has factory air non working so easy swap to new working.
