How many inches of lift must you have before you worry about swapping out the pitman arm for a dropped version? I've got about 1.25 inch of lift over where my '96 was before replacing the front springs, which seems higher than it was new. It aligned, but I'm just curious if there's any damage that could occur by not changing it to a longer drop.

I think you will be fine. All the drop arms I've seen are for a 4", 6" or more lift. So with less than two inches of lift, you would just be offsetting the linkage back past the original position in the other direction.
