i had a bad noise coming from my windshield over bumps and things and one day i paid real close attention and my whole windshield was actually popping out. I guess the glass guy didnt press it down well enough. Sure enough i could take my hand and push the top in and out. I stripped the trim off and re-glued it down.

as a side note my 89 is much noisier(dash wise) than my 85. the 89 has the hard plastic dash cover, the 85 is a padded dash.

I havn't tryed to push on the windshield as of yet to see ifs comming out or not but Ill check that and my dash is the plastic too and doesn't look like to many sturdy mounting areas so I think thats the problem

part of the problem arises with all the trim and things that go on the dash, they all clip in. After awhile the clips get brittle. What i do is when i see things rattling around(have someone with you) start pressing on the dash in different areas and see if you can either get it to stop or you can feel the vibration. sometimes it helps to pull some trim off and see if the problem is still there.

If it really bothers you, pull it all apart and put some silicone on all the attachment points and hope it works:) louder exhaust usually helps the problem out;)

I have owned two fifth generation Broncos a 92 Custom and a 94 XLT. Both of them have had broken main dash supports on the passenger side right above the kick panel. You can view it right above the kick panel where the dash is closest to it. Push down above the glove box and watch for movement.

When I repaired mine I used a plastic epoxy mix and stirred in fiberglass (that I took from a furnace filter).
