Now I know why they gods of automotive say change the @#!$% oxygen sensor every 30K miles. The damn things snap the heads off after being in for 130K  Couldn't even turn the remaing insert out with an easy out

I sure hope the muffler shop has an impact wrench version to get this thing out. Just in case they need to weld in a new **** or whatever it's called does anyone know if it is a common part and easy to get a hold of? Do muffler shops usually stock these things? I gotta get it fixed by end of business on Tues (Mon is a holiday). I'm not even sure if they stock any parts for it  so I'll have to hope for the best.

If anyone ever wondered Bronco's run pretty good in open loop mode. Sounds almost as good as my 68 Firebird 400. :-"

i just changed mine too after 120k. came out like a bitch and cross threaded going in. :-&

it won't be coming out anytime soon lol and if it does i will be replacing the stock y pipe anyway.

the reason why i replaced mine was the idle was erratic going up and down from 500 to 800 rpm. now it idles good around 650 it got lazy :)>-

Everything worked fine before except I couldn't run more than 7* timing without the engine pinging. 93 octane would let me go about 15* (adjustable MSD timing :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> ). I think the voltage was out by 120K that it was running lean. If I'd known it'd be this much trouble I'd have left it in till the Y fell out! Got 17+ mpg on the way from Jersey to Carolina. Might even be better since the 31x10.5's throw off the odometer a bit to fewer miles than actually travelled. Now to get prepared for the Water pump, timing chain, and powersteeing pump which will probably go next. And then the Dana front pumpkin.... Time to throw some money  /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hey the same thing happened to me. I waited also. It was a bitch to get out and I crossed threaded it. The local muffler shop was able to cut and weld in a new O2 sensor fitting. They welded over the old one to seal it up. It worked out great and only cost me around $40.00. Good luck... :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />[email protected] I do alot of my own work and fabricating. I just got done putting in a 9in rear on my 96 Bronco. Works great.
