:) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> My 77 Bronco carb is getting a little tierd and I wonder what I should put in. I have a stock motocraft. I use my rig for late season mountain exploration in Western WA and it has an RV Cam. Some fuel economy would be nice on the highway too.

I have found that a small four barrel gets better fuel economy than the stock two barrel. (kinda depends on your go pedal too!!)

Living near the mountains and using my truck as a daily driver, I avoid Holley carbs, as they CAN be finnicky with weather/ altitude changes. I run an Edelbrock /Carter with the offroad kit and am extremely happy with its performance.

Be careful when choosing a new intake manifold as the medium and high rise intakes can cause you grief with (factory) hood clearance issues.

I like the q-jet cause it doesn't flood out on off camber situations. For street I like Edelbrock and Carter.

By the way, where abouts in Western WA are you located? I'm in Maple Valley near Renton or 30-40 min from Seattle. I know all the trails if you want to tag along sometime.

I agree with "Broncoholics". I have a 78 and bought the "Truck Avenger", to give it a try....Had nothing but problems with it. Won't do that again!

DONT EVER USE A HOLLEY. That is if you intend on going off road. If you are just going to cruise around town, then a Holley will be a wonderful carb. I used to have one and every time I got on an incline that was steeper than what a paving machine could go up, she loaded up and died. I ended up going back to the FoMoCo carb until I had the money to EFI the thing. I would look into getting a Carter or Edlebrock 4 barrel. They seem to have the best reputation for having off camber pumping ability.
