i am buying an 87 from a buddy at work. he says he started on a head job but got lazy and quit. i figure since i need the car and really want a bronco it was a good deal. and since advance sells a 302 efi for about 900 i wasn't going to be too bad off. however i need ideas. i am going tol rebuild the old 302 and make it a little stronger but have no idea where to start. so any ideas will be apreciated. as of now i know i want to do like 3 in body and 3 inch suspension lift and i want to put a new exhaust kit in. PLEASE HELP THE NEWB i really need it.

well at least I know on the exhaust part of this:

no one as far as i've seen makes an exhaust kit for the 4.9L (header back or cat back). They have them for the 302 and 351. should you have the 4.9L, you may want to invest in a place that does custom exhaust with a pipe bender.

NAPA should be able to beat Advance on a rebuilt engine seeing as napa has much much much much larger buying power than advance. Or your local machine shop/engine rebuilder could hook you up for much cheaper!

as for the lift, second time today, buy a rancho 5000 series kit, good kit that's cost effective.
