Tires

I read a post were the guy said that he was wondering if 33x12.50 tires would work on a bronco but he mixed me up wither wether or not the truck was lifted 4 inches or stock. Thinking about putting on the same size tires on my bronco anyone who can clear this up please let me know im doing it 2morrow and giving my buddy money down on them monday.

There's lots of discussion about this, but 33x12.50's can fit on a stock-height Bronco. Some year models have more front fender/bumper clearance, but most of the time you will still have slight tire contact with the radius arms at full turn, and possibly on the rear fenders as well. Alot depends on the wheel backspacing, too. The further the tire is from the hub, the more it will rub!!!

yeah i agree, the tire will fit, they fit on mine and mine is a stock 84 bronco. you may want some backspacing on your wheels though.

The tires shouldnt rub so much that its not drivable though right? Planning on doing some trimming on the rear anyways the guy that owned my bronco before me put it sheet metal for the rusted out rear quarters. Ill have to show everyone a picture sometime it will make you cry.

Driving the Bronco will not be the problem, only when you flex the suspension or turn the wheel all the way in one direction will you get the "rubbing". Our year models from 80-86 seem to have a little more clearance up front, but the first contact point will be on the rear fenders. It's not pretty if you are driving fast and the suspension hits bottom, so don't do any jumping!!!

i just got my 33s on my bronco, stock. there is less room in mine than the 78 doner they came from. but they do fit and with the off set, i have full turning, but off road, i will need to trim. >-

I have an 89 bronco with 33x12.50's on it. I have had no problems or rubbing. I do have 12.5 rims, but I don't know if that makes a difference. I tried to post some pics but I must be doing something wrong. I should also mention my bronc is not lifted.

Hey everyone-New to this site! Good info on tires, I'm going through the same dilemma at the moment. I've got a '95 5.8L Bronco, all stock (except Rancho 9000s and 5000s), and I'm putting 33" MTRs on it with 15"x10"s. I've been looking at Bronco Graveyards 4" standard lift kit, which drops the radius arms, has an extended pitman arm, blocks for outback and longer springs. Also need new shocks as part of this deal-but if I really don't need to lift it, I won't, since I need this truck to be as dependable as possible. I previosly owned a '84 Bronco with 31"x11.5" MTs, and they only rubbed at full lock. Does anyone have any experience with this lift kit from Bronco Graveyard?

I put 33X12.5x15 on mine and it is great. I do not have any major problems at all I cannot turn all the way anymore but I never did that anyway so i am good I still am going to lift her up later but for now she looks great. the 31's just looked wrong but the 33's look right. Look for your self

Thanks walkdawg! A picture is worth a thousand words. I'm heading out to the Sweetwater Mountains at the California/Nevada border today to do some work, and it will be the last time my 31"s see any action-33's will be put on as soon as I get back. Any problems with loss of power?

It does lose a little take off speed but You are not driving a drag car. You will not really notice that much I just did a tune up and I believe I got a little back also. You will love it. I might get me some of those extend radius arms so I can get my turning radius back. I also have not see a change to my gas milage.

I just got back out of the mountains and purchased a set of 33x10.5" BFG MTs - they have yet to arrive from the East Coast, but I'll post when I get them on my truck. I also got Warn hubs upfront. No FWD really was not good where I was, and they're cheeep! Thanks for the advice everoyone.

if any one wants to know, i have33/12.5/15 hurculese OTR terra tracks. they work well. i climed some real steep hilsides in the rain with no problems. i have no problems with rubbing. the clearence looks like not much but i came back with no front wheel well damage... and i was pretty ******* my mouse
