Sure it is! I'll tell you why I like a multi-belt system over the serpentine system though.

1. A belt breaking doesn't disable everything at once like a serpentine system does

2. It is much easier to do a emergency fix on the road with a multi-belt system

(I carry a section of emergency link belt for just such an occasion)

(you could also carry a spare serpentine belt and tool)

3. You could even use a pair of ****** hose for an emergency on the road fix

None of that is possible with a serpentine system.

Just food for thought :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> .

Good luck,

:)>-

I belive the stock serpentine-belt 351W uses a water pump with the rotation opposite that of the older, multiple-belt motor.

Thats correct, the 302 and 351 use a reverse rotation water pump for the serpentine system

it is possible to run serpentine on a v-belt set up while still using the older style pump(for v-belt) you just have to route it a certain way..i have a picture of how to do it somewhere..but i also was only running alternator crank and water pump
