Auto transmission swap

I have a '83 Bronco with a 351W and 3-spd auto trans. I'd like to put in a 4-spd. auto. Anyone who has done this, please advise what year 4-spd. trannys will fit and what you did to resolve shift selector difference. Also would like a year model trans that doesn't require computer control. Thanks

I believe the AOD wasnt computer controlled (but i could be wrong) and it was a 4 spd OD tranny. thats the only four speed you'll get from a Ford that wasnt controlled by the comp and VSS, otherwise you're looking at a manual tranny.
