I am looking for some advice, Have a stock 79 bronco 351M with a C6 trans. Is it possible to get a 4 speed auto to bolt up? will it increase mpg? or is the gearing in the differentials a factor as well? i am running 33x12.50. Any insight would be highly appreciated.

Yes it is. I have seen Bronco's with A4OD tranny's in them.

did you mean the E4od or and AOD, the E4od will bolt up but you have to have a computer to run it, the Aod will not bolt up as it has the 302/351W bolt pattern, i think some companies make an adpter for it but not sure.

if you go with the E4od you can get a stand alone computer to shift the tranny from computshift or baumman.

I think you can get a manual valve body for the E4OD, then you don't need the computer.
