Good Evening all, My glass wiring is messed up. I cut the wires to the original motor and put in a new motor. when i turn the key or push the dash button either direction, i get power to both wires but the motor wont run. when i connect the 2 switch wires together with 1 motor wire and ground the opposite motor wire it will turn 1 direction. if i swap the other motor wire and ground the other it will run in the opposite direction. Can someone please help me !!!

Welcome Jerry,

As Ron advised; and to help id wires

, "...The Bronco tailgate window circuit is a common (Ford) polarity-reversing circuit with 2 switches. Each switch has its own power feed; the dash switch through the ignition switch (key-on only) and the tailgate key switch from the battery (always hot). The dash switch normally holds both motor wires to ground, and the key switch normally holds the motor wires to the dash switch wires. When either is operated, it sends one of the wires hot, powering the motor (assuming the latch switch is closed). When operated the other way, the polarity is reversed, reversing the motor's direction. Neither switch is a "master" because neither will work if the other is in the opposite position..."

the wires had already been spliced together and the jumper for the interlock switch had been put in. I've read every post on here before posting my question. when i turn the key in either pos. both wires from the switch go hot, however it seems that the plug into the motor differentiates between one or the other. is that normal? i don't understand what happened, i cut 2 wires hooked them up the two wires from the switch, it should work. i checked all of the constant powers, they work, and i checked the ground up in the dash, they are also working.. i don't know what could be wrong

sounds like you have a short somewhere. one should have power but they both do. look at areas where they could have rubbed through the casing between the key switch and the motor.
