I'm new here so I don't know if this has been raised before.

I've just acquired a 93' Bronco... I had one new in 88' when I first got out of the army and really liked it... This one is just about the same with the exception of my 88' had a carburated 351 and this one has a fuel injected 302.

Anyway, the idea of what I've been toying with is taking the entire suspension, powerstroke diesel and drivetrain from a late model F-350 and replacing everything on my Bronco with it...

Any ideas on it?

I wouldn't be doing the work myself... I'm pretty good with a wrench but this idea is a little beyond my capabilities.

Any wrenching will save you cash obviously. Expect to pay out a whole lot of money for someone to do it for you. If you have the donor truck there really isnt any reason a guy couldnt do it himself. Strip the bronco first, then re-install the f-350 parts after you take them off and it is fresh in your mind. Label everything, organize all bolts and label their location, and take a ton of pictures. If you have any mechanical ability it will be no problem. Change everything from the fuel tank to the rad whether someone says its the same or not, fuel lines as well. When I first started with my "recipe" for making my Bronco a 3/4 ton, I have considered removing the bodies and cutting down the frame from the donor truck so its identical to the Bronco frame, then just place the body back on top. That is still running around in my head, might happen. Concerned with a welded frame though but I think with some re-inforcing and boxing the rails it might be my best option. Anyways thats my thoughts, you should really consider if this is what you want, then consider cutting the frame and making it fit.
