It has been done before, check out seabronc,he did a similar swap on his 84 bronco using a 88 f250 parts truck. As far as your original small block c-6 you will not be able to use it because the bell housing patterns are different between the 300-351W and 351M-460.You will need to find a big block c-6 for a 4x4 or swap the tailshaft and housing from a regular 4x2 c-6 which involves pulling the guts out of the tranny. You will need to find the correct motor mounts and oil pan for that chassis if you don't already have them , upgrade to a larger radiator, fab up an exhaust system using headers or the stock truck exhaust manifolds, and getting the correct kickdown for the tranny.Hope this helps and I'm sure other people on here can help you even further.Good luck.

Also get the correct accessory brackets for the motor ,could probably find them in the junkyard if you don't already have them.

Sorry my mistake,it wasn't Seabronc that did the 460 swap in his bronco it was Justshootme84 but I know they both have a lot of knowledge about vehicles.

a buddy of mine brought up a good point today. why not just build one of the 347 strokers? does anyone know if one of these would be good in a bronco? he uses them allot, but all in street cars. any input??? thanx

84XLT, a stroked 302 or even a 351W is an option, and would be simpler than the 460 swap. I went with the big block, as I figured on spending roughly the same amount of money either way, but ending up with one heck of a powerplant in the 460. Not to mention the potential that the big block has, and the fact that I've killed one too many 302's and 351W's trying to get a tad more ponies out of them. JSM84
