i met a guy today that has a rust free uncut original 77 here in tx that if he decides to keep he wants my help buildin it. im a 78-79 guy and dont the the differences between the 77s and earlier ones but i think theres somethin different with the steering right? hes a race car guy and has no idea what he has. its nice enough a guy pulled up to his house with a car hauler and offered him $7500 cash though...its wierd how someone could have one of these and not be very interested in it especially when hes a ford guy. i just wanna know what kind of options the 77s had or different trim packages or styles. thanks

Trim packages

base,

ranger, sport, explorer (fancy seats, carpet and chrome trim, paint stripes or two tone, should have a badge on the glove box door)

76/77 had quick ratio p/s, 3.8 turns lock to lock vs 5.3 turns in the earlier p/s.

76/77 also had the "inverted y" steering linkage.

All 77s had 302 2 bbl from the factory.

Trans were limited to either the C-4 auto or the 3 spd column shift std.

front disc brakes were standard, there was a power brake delete option (no booster)

Front diff was a hd 44, rear is a 28 spline large bearing hd 9", trac lok was an option for either end.

Most had 3.50(rear) 3.54(front) gearing.

Vertical marker lights mounted in the rear tail gate corners, fuel doors instead of exposed caps.

Hope some of that will help.
