96 Bronco, 5.8 liter auto locking hubs. Had tranny work done years ago. When I put into 4 wheel drive it sounded like it always did. Yet front wheels not doing anything. When I remove front 3screw hubs. What am I looking for? Worn, or damaged splines ? Was considering switching to Warn manual locking hubs. But I want to make sure that is the problem to start with before manning $300.00 investment that I may not need.

Auto hubs are junk. I just got done removing mine even tho they were working, the failure rate is very high.

Jack the Bronco up and put the t-case into 4hi and leave it in Park. try to turn the front drive shaft by hand. If you can't then you know the t-case is working and its time to replace the hubs.
