you can do whatever your imagination and wallet can agree on.35's will fit with a 4" lift, but for the money its better to go to a 6" lift , rough country sells decent kits and there is only a 40 or 60 dollar difference between 4" and 6" kits.

FYI, I'm going to use 35's on 4" of lift on my'86, but I expect to cut away some sheet metal around the fenders to get more clearance.
