What's up guys. I just purchased a 2007 Mustang GT that I plan to do some customization on. I have been searching for a daily driver that will be dependable yet functional. So I found a 91 Bronco with 181K miles on it but the owner (hes only the second owner) said has a rebuilt engine and tranny that has about 20K miles on it. The car looks freaking immaculate.

It is blue and tan with tan interior. I plan on driving it tomorrow. Can anyone answer these questions for me:

1. What should I look for when I test it? Issues that might make me want to pass on it.

2. What type of gas mileage do you see out of the 5.0 engine with auto? I plan on driving the speed limit. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thanks in advance.

Oh by the way, he is asking $3400 for it.

Check the 4x4, rear wheel wells/tailgate for rust, oil pan leaks(should be ok if it was rebuilt like stated) and other leaks, sloppy steering and strange vibrations.

MPG should be 9-14

I've got a 96 bronco with the 5.0 and an auto trans, i average about 12.5 mpg

Bluesman17 hit it on the head, look at the fender wells and bottom of tailgate. Although If you live in a rust prevelent area like I do in South FL then you should look to see if the body has been repainted, A friend of mine bought a 89 bronco that had obviously been repainted because of the massive amounts of overspray and with in 3 months the paint fell of the rear fender wells and it was rusted all the way through.

You can also get a wealth of information about how the truck was used/abused if you take the time to crawl under the truck and look around.

3400.00 is a pretty high price if it has issues. But a bargain if it has been well maintained. The rear quarters can be replaced if they are bad and you really like the truck, one place you should really look closely though are the inner wheel wells, Mine are rotted right through and I cant find replacements anywhere. Also the door jamb area is prone to rust, its structural so a body shop will **** you to fix it. The end of the drip rails where it meets the roof cracks and lets water in. Check the front hubs to see if they are engaging and releasing properly. Other than that I think Bluesman covered the rest pretty good.
