Thanks for your reply. I have an electric choke, Holley 600. 351 Windsor. Any time it's in gear, full throttle it will stall before 70mph. If I drive normal, it's sporatic. If I come to a complete stop, it will restart right away. It might run 5 minutes or it might die right away. The engine was replaced with discount auto parts remanufactured.
No rhyme or reason. Sometimes it runs fine. Always at full throttle before 70mph, it dies.
Have you checked the tank for trash, I had some in an old truck of mine years ago and the more gas I tried to give the harder it choked. The trash might not be near the fuel line but after a little bit of suction in the tank it will move. Just something to consider.
That is a good idea. If you had the same symptoms before the engine and all that other stuff was swapped, then the problem must lie with the remaining original parts. I have seen the same problem on a car that was left parked near a cotton field for over a year without a gas cap. The crud would **** up on the intake screen and starve the engine of fuel. Once the engine died, the stuff fell off and settled back into the tank allowing the engine to be restarted.
