170 Rare??? whats different from a 1966 model and a later model?

I saw a topic asking if a 289 is rare and i was wondering is a 1966 bronco with a 170 rare?? and i was also wondering what makes the 66 different from the later models...i havent really seen any differences.

There were many EB's built with the 170 I-6 Then more with the 200 I-6.

What's "rare" (see my sig. below) is the "U-13 Roadster" It came fr. the factory with no top, no doors. U-13 will be on the Vin.# & on the title. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

There are many little differences between early year 66 and later production EB's that often go un noticed.

the tailgate has a different rib across the top

the grille has a rib that goes around the headlights

the door locks (key cylinders) are higher up the door

I have a friend that has these traits on his 66, he also has a hood that never had air duct slats for either intake for the passenger compartment.

Broncoohio.com has a serial number decoder that you can use to find out the approximate build date of your truck.
