I've been working on my 90' Bronc. Finished up the front with a Procomp 6" Stage II and headed to the back next. The Rear hangers are rusted through and look like crap. I know ive seen a thread in here somewhere in the past about rplacement hangers but i can't remember them for the life of me. If anyone has any ideas let me know im looking toget it done right. Ive completely rebuild the front end (new Parts) and the Engine/ Tranny/ T-case are in the works, so the rear is the next thing so i'd appreciate some ideas.. Thanks in advance..

There are two threads about those hangers in the technical forum. They're rather recent so they wouldn't be hard to find. I'm actually replacing mine this weekend. I got the new ones from LMCtruck.com. I'll let you know how it goes.

Here's one!

Here's the other!

Good luck!

6" up front and you have 6" of add a leaf? you have axle blocks also? i thought the most you could get out of add a leafs was about 2" and you need longer leafs for more lift

My dad and I just finished replacing my leaf spring hangers the other day and it really isn't that hard. As with anything, the hardest part was taking the old hangers off. The rivets on mine were so rusty that we used a hammer and a chisle to pop off the heads. Also be prepared to get new replacement bolts that hold the leaf spring onto the hanger. Your old ones will probably be shot. Also, we thought that we would have to take out the tank, but there is a way to manuver new nuts and bolts into the new hanger through the top of the frame going down with out lowering the tank.

keep in mind those bolts are 20bucks each from ford and they are metric and have special hardening. Jeffs bronco graveyard sells a grade 8 equivalent replacement. i think the ford stuff is some off grade like 10.9, something the local bolt shop had no record of. Im currently running 9/16 grade 8 bolts in the back of mine but this is just a hair undersized.

Its a 6" front and supposed to be a 6" rear. I got 2 leafs per side that measure like 7.5" over stock, I figure that should even out to 5-6" once leveled.

Ummm...hmmmm.....crap... I probably should upgrade my bolts then. I have grade 5 b/c thats all I could find in that size and length and just hoped they would hold. I hope they dont break on me.

The shackle flip kit that you can buy from sky manufacturing comes with grade 5 bolts but for suspension grade 5 is scary to me. That is definately the lightest grade you would want to go. I wouldnt feel safe with anything less than grade 8.
