Okay, I got told that WORN Locking Hubs was the best hubs to go with. I was curious whether or not this was true or not.

The guy who owned the BEAST (Bronco) before me, thought that he could keep the hubs locked in 24/7 and doing that he wore out the hubs.

Since I am re-building it, i`m trying to put the best of the best on it.

Money is no issue, so if there is anything better, I would like to know about it.

Thanks to anyone who helps me.

Part time 4WD is not intended to be locked in 24/7. That causes excessive wear and also puts a big dent in the gas mileage. As far as hubs go I'd give Warn a big thumbs up.

Good luck,

:)>-

I gotta agree. I put the WARN hubs on mine, and couldn't be happier.

Damn, you don't hear that much anymore!

I think Warn supplied Ford with the original part. The premium Warn would be an upgrade from Ford stock and would serve you well. Mile Marker also has an ultimate hub with lots of stainless steel that looks good too. They are really simple gadgets, I guess the thing to look for is trail toughness.

If you need any help spending that money let me know!!

My Warn Premiums have served me well, no complaints. They also have a lifetime waranty if they should fail at sometime. Milemarker's also have a lifetime waranty, but unlike the Warns, I actually know someone who has broken a couple of Milemarkers, so I say go with the Warns.

Okay, thanks for the help. One side will lock in, but the other won't and I just figured replace both sides instead of just one.

Okay, so WARN is a go. Anyone know where I may be able to order them from.

Any local retail store or would I have to order online.

Lots of retails have them, or you can order from JBG. thats where I got mine. I was too lazy to drive around and look.

I got mine at my local Advance Auto Parts store, but they are available from many sources. Someone in your area probably has them in stock.

your best bet order the premium warn manual locking hubs from jeffs bronco grave yard i ordered mine around christmas and where at my door in about 7 business days and they were $95 and change. from the warm site they are about 130-140 for the same thing. i know you mentioned money isnt't an issue but spend wisely. very easy to install but finding a spanner socket was a little tough but luckily my dad's friend had one. they have worked extremely well with no problems on rugged turrain. good luck! happy trail riding.

If you are upgrading your manual hubs to newer manual hubs you don't need to have the spanner socket just an allen wrench and something to get that big c-clip thing off (***** driver) and a c-clip spreader tool for the center c-clip, you don't even need to jack it up.

Well, looks like im going to get me some WaRnS because there is a lot of good feedback on em'.

Yeah, I'm 17 years old with about 11.8 grand and going to put it into my bronco. Will keep pictures updated but don't know how it works on my blackberry yet.

Going to try and put a 6 stroke turbo deisel in it too. But for now, hubs, and prolly a 2 inch body lift with about a 4 inch suspension.

If anyone has any ideas to make it a monster let me know.

Thanks guys, this is the most helpful site I'm registered on.

Yea dude just another comment on warns, The warn standard lockin hub is what can stock on broncos after like 1980 i think. But anyway look at your stock hubs and warn standard ones, only differance is one says ford with a red dial, the other says warn with a blue dial. If you wanted too jeffs sell both od these hubs the WARN standards and the ones that say ford, only differance is price and looks tha ones that say for a 64 for a pair and thw ones that say warn a 70.

Yeah, well I am pretty much order my parts from jeffsbroncograveyard, but I just ordered a free catalog from lmctruck. I was told that lmc would have a bunch of aftermarket parts for a Bronco. Anyways, I think that just about does it on my hubs. Thanks guys.

Again Warn is the way to go...

About your lift, I would stay away from a body lift, not only will you be left with a 2" gap between the bumpers and body but you also run the risk of the body bolts snapping when you are wheelin. This failure *could* result in the body separating from the frame. I would say if you want 6" of lift then just get a 6" suspension lift and forget the body.

Just my opinion

Oh no, no, no. That's NOT an opinion it's a stone cold *fact*. I've SEEN this happen. Out on a club trail ride dude was running 9" suspension, 3" of body lift & 40's. He went up a deeply rutted trail but took a *bad* hop and the rear end jumped up & sideways. His rear passenger tire slammed into a thick tree right at the base and the entire body shifted over a good 18". Only one bolt actually snapped but the rest folded over. It was fixed in place that night and he was able to stay with us for the rest of the trip but there was no doubt his body was f*cked up and it looked like a crab running sideways once we got back on the pavement. I know for a fact he spent a good 2 weeks straightening out everything that got bent or tweeked. Add to that fact that a body lift is just a plain bitch to install with so many freaking bracketry and mounting modifications that have to be made. I honestly think you spend *more* time installing & straightening out a body lift. At least a suspension lift is very straightforward and the problems/solutions are well understood. Most body lifts just give you the spacers, longer body bolts and wish you the best. Now that's not to say they can't be installed or used by the average mechanically inclined individual, but they DO have a whole lot of hidden ******** that comes along with the deal.

I really don't think you need *another* recommendation for Warn hubs but fact is that they're really just the best ones available.
