When i hit the gas pedal it's, accelerating very slowly, or, if you just give it a little more gas, throw me back into my seat sort of thing. I'm thinking it might be a bad fuel pump but want a second opinion.

Fuel pump, filter, regulator or injectors could be at fault. I'd start by ck'ing the fuel pressure at various revs.
