cruise control stopped working

my cruise stopped working this morning. when i turned it on and set if for sixty all it did was make a low buzzing sound. could this be it just quit or is it that it might be the faulty switch that ford recalled? Any help? Thanks. 1995 XLT 302 e40d

Well, not to be a killjoy but it's my understanding that the recall was (basically) because of cruise control switches that were attached to the Master Cylinder & could, once contaminated with brake fluid, smoulder & burn your truck to the ground. So on the *bright* side if there's no smoke under the hood or flames in the cab you should be cool, unfortunately this still leaves you with no cruise. Have you by chance ck'd the fuse yet ?

no not yet its been so crazy with work lately. we have two months to get to the top of this high rise so everyday im exhausted when i come home from work. this weekend i'll get to check it. this building is massive. over 300 1.5 million dollar units. cya

Hey I'm back just got done with checking it out. The fuse is fine. Should I go to the Ford dealer and see if I can get that checked out? How would I know if it's been recalled and replaced yet? Finally a four day weekend. Man this week has been crazy at work.

Funny story. I'm out building shelves out of crown moulding and 1x8's for my grandparents for christmas. Girlfriend says from the steps "Aren't you ever going to take your tool belt off and sit down? It's saturday." I say "No, Santa's so booked up this year I'm doing work for the elves and him." And she shakes her head and goes back in the house. Well I thought it was funny. Back to the wood shop for primer coating. Thanks guys
