hey kinda dumb question but wanna make sure i am right can't find it anywhere but i know it has to be out there, i have a 78 bronco only had it like a week now, and someone routed the water hose straight from the pump to the block, by passing the heater core, now i am hookin that back up just to figure out why they did that, which hose goes to which side of the heater core, the plugs are side by side, does one the left one(as looking at it, passenger side) go to the water pump and the other plug on the heater core go to the thermostat housing or is it the other way around and will everythign work if i get em backwards just wondering,

also the powersteering is hard to steer to the left, and easy to steer to the right, but steering to the right it makes a noise is there somethign i can do to fix this or what

Well if the water hose is not connected to the heater core---more the likely--either the hose was bad or the heater core went out. If you have a carpet in it--chaek it for anti-freeze smell or dampness--if so--the core is probably bad. They cost around $25. The hose (both) around $7 or $8 . Now the power steering--check to see if you have any plugged up hoses. and also check your pump (while the engine is running)and use caution look down ibn the re-fill hole and see if fluid is circulateing

. Now a plugged up up line will cause it. Also if someone put on a wrong hose will also cause hard steering or not able to steer enough in one direction.Good luck ,hope this helps you

OK first off you wont find any coolent on the floor because the heater box is under the hood and the drain for the box is on the bottom of that,So it wont leak onto the floor because of the drain. My heater went again and I just replaced it,I ran the hose from the pump to the left core inlet and the other one to the other hook up.it doesnt matter which side because all it does is go in then out.I just hooked the left hose up to the left and right hose so on so that the hoses werent criss crossed.....And I had the same thing happen with my steering ,I had power steering to the left but not to the right. It isnt the pump or lines,Its the valving being bad in the gearbox,You can either rebuild it yourself or get a new/rebuilt one.The pump pumps one way all the time,it isnt like it reverses for one side or another,Where it changes is in your box. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Okay, I have coolant slowly leaking into my truck on the floorboards. It started when I did a transmission swap, and now my truck smells like antifreeze and Im finding trails of moisture on my driveshaft tunnel and passenger floorboard. Any ideas?

Hey mike, my dad had just bought a 71 Mustang off this dealer and it would not cut far in one direction. After the dealer had his mechanic to look it over. It had a shorter hose on it then what it should have have. They replaced the hose -with a correct one and a longer in lenght and it steered fine after that. Sometimes things can seem to be odd,but it does happen.
