rear wheel bearings

I'm having trouble getting my rear axel to fit completly into the differental. driver's side seems ok but i can't seem to seat the

other side when i put it in gear i get a horrible gear grinding sound from the rear end. If anybody could help it would be aprciated. this is a 1979 with a 460 swap.

you might want to chek the differiential bearings and the spider gears for missing teeth , while you got it down ...

Are you sure you didnt mix them up, drivers side in passenger side vice versa?
