hi , new to the club. was looking for tips or hints for cheap hp for my carbed motor?

get a new edelbrock carb and pull the heads off and port and pollish them and put a cam in and thats a good start so much u can do

hey, thanks for the reply ,whats a good cfm to run and still get good mpg.and what size port on the heads? ratio on the cam? what to bore the block at?pistons? sugested brands?these tings I have no idea of. i dont want to spend a lot of money that i dont have but I would like to do it right. thanks again

hey for the cam the best thing to do is call comp cams and tell the tequnitions what u plan on doing and what u want to do to the motor and they will set up a cam from scratch to your space and the motor for the barb ide half to look it up and the ovorbore is up to u it helps a lot but its up to u to decide on a good bore size .030 would be a good size if u want good gasmillage and the heads u can have them done to what u want theres a lot of different things u can do with a set of heads but if u want to spend the money and get a set of alumin heads thats the best thing to do for a bolt on product that brings 65hp to the table.

Like said before pull the heads and get them proted and polished have the block honed and get a good cam. if you are building yourself i would go ahead and trya nd get top of the line everything worth it in the end. Good luck
