I've got an '89 that's losing PS fluid. I don't know anything about power steering but I did replace the pump a few years ago. Checked all the fittings and they are tight. Fluid seems to be almost everywhere including up from the pump towards the firewall. Not sure where to begin sorting this out. Any help is appreciated!

Hey BJ
Put some fluid in and have someone start it and turn the wheel back and forth while you watch under the hood. It should be pretty easy to spot.
Hope that helps, cheers!

if fluid is everywhere, that sounds like a Pressure side leak.
Gets tricky to spot, may have to give the area a bath with purple-power, let dry and take it from there. 👁 🔍

That was it. Hose leaking AND spurting while my son turned the steering wheel. Which explains why fluid was everywhere. Thanks for the tip!
