I am thinking of bringing my 1990 eddie bauer bronco to a restoration company to take apart and restore my bronco. Any recommendations? I have some electrical issue, cut wires, etc and rust to be cut and fixed. I know you guys know all the players. I am located in Louisiana, but will ship it.

How much money you got?

Really what it comes down too. I don't know of anyone that does that stuff, every time I have tried or know someone that tried it is always cost plus.
Body shops don't want the mechanical, mechanical don't want the body work.

Ever thought about something like counting cars? Counts customs? I think their work is questionable but would live to see a bronco on there.
I have no idea how to go about something like that, just thought it would be cool.

You have bear with us. I have owned my Bronco's for the last 15 years ..... and it is only recently that they are becoming red hot. I paid under 3,500 for each ... and they were in great shape with no rust .... and under 150,000 miles.

It still sounds crazy to me to drop 15,000 to 20,000 for a full restoration on a fullsize .... but from where the market is heading.... that is not as crazy an investment as it was just three years ago.

Good luck and keep us updated with a build thread.

You can bring it to the bomb factory in Nola. They did some work for me. Great work, but your probably looking at least $50K for a frame off full rebuild and restoration including body work and paint.

Try Craiglist, but make sure you check their reference and work out real good. Their is a place in Virginia that has been in business for along time called Whitepost. I,ve seen videos of their shop and work. They look like they do a really good job. -540-837-1140. They have been in business for over 75 years and it is family owned. They do all kinds of work and types of vehicles.Good luck.

They also claim to have done work on vehicles that has been in Pebble Beach Concorurs shows and quite a few others. So they must be good and I assume their price is expensive too. Good luck. Their also a place near Roanoke,Va that advertise on Craigslist. Als check out Hemmings. They have services advertised on their.

thanks johnnny reb!
Your more then welcome. You should be able to go and find one close to you. Buy typing in the the address bar. Auto restoration in Louisana ---and I,m sure you will find plenty and save on having it hauled out of state. Make sure to check their reference and talk to the people they done work on their vehicles and make sure you have what you want done in writing .Plus if you can get someone to go with you.As a witness--if they try and sham you. Good luck

I realize this may be a little too far from you but there is a shop in west central PA called H&H Performance that specializes in Ford restorations, mostly Mustangs of course, but they did do a '75 Bronco a couple of years ago. They started with a real rust bucket. I saw the truck in person at SEMA and it was really well done. That project was sold at a raffle to raise funds for the Keystone Elk Country Alliance (KECA) and the restoration was featured on two episodes of the Friends In Wild Places outdoor TV show. Here are links to youtube videos of the TV show episodes. Keep in mind that these are Pennsylvania rednecks (like me) so cut them a little slack for their cornball humor. Even if you aren't interested in having them do your restoration you may learn a few things by watching these and hopefully be entertained at the very least.

Following, mostly for entertainment, but I'm wondering if there are any restoration places that would do a very light restoration on my '95 manual transmission XL 351 V8 to enhance sales, meaning to get it accepted on a better auction site due to relatively minor or cosmetic issues. Haven't submitted it, but just saw a similar but shined up and auto transmission vehicle sell for $32K on auction online. I'm in Southern California.

Runs beautifully, lots of random in-person cash offers in the past years, but I work at home so almost never drive it or anything, and am thinking about buying a van and converting it so I can travel work remotely while traveling without dealing much with COVID issues and the cost of hotels, Airbnb, etc. Tired of housing shortages in CA and miss my travel adventures. So, just thinking about fixing some minor dents from people who don't know how to drive in parking lots or who text while driving and run into my back bumper, replacing weatherproofing strips and headliner which just now started to sag in spots, and stuff like that. Runs great. Manual 351 V8. People call it "clean inside" but that's compared to other Broncos because I call things clean when they are spotless. Vinyl inside. Just need to fix seat covers where your bottom hits, mostly on the driver's side. Not sure it's smart or worth it to spend any money on it, but if I could get close to that after putting in maybe $5000 max, it would be worth it.

Or, I could just keep driving it (mostly not driving it as I work remotely and my son buys the groceries) for a while since it's paid for. Just seems like a good time to sell.
