Hello everyone.. I am in urgent need of assistance or guidance. I am currently stationed overseas(Germany) and am planning my return. I aquired and started to restore a 1978 Bronco. We do not use the traditional stateside titles over here, instead we are given a military based title document in its place. Most people toss out the titles, or they get lost after multiple owners. Unfortunately now that it is time to go, I am finding that most states are in need of a manufactures certificate of orgin. This would not so much need to be a vehicle history, but rather a document showing the vehicle was built and conforming to US auto specifications. Since I know this beast was not manufactured anywhere else and is US spec already, I really need some help... I would hate to have to leave her behind, she has been a really good truck. Is there a department somewhere that can do this for a fee? With thd vin being only 11 digits long, most tile and vehicle history sites are coming up empty......thanx...Rick

yo!

I don't know what state you will be returning to; could help me search for what that state needs from you for a replacement title; such as Texas, for example:

"Question: I lost my title. How do I get a duplicate?" - see:

Oregon DMV Replacing & Transfering of Oregon Titles

NJ CAR - Duplicate Title for an Out-of-State Resident

Many states offer free or reduced services for Military members..so if you e mail the state DoT; mention your service!

...

This may help you with some info for title replacement & registration:

These are some typical Ford Factory Build Sheet Forms that may still be in your Bronco under seat or in under rear compartment carpet/mat close to the tail gate, dead center, under the carpet right below the back seat, under the carpet behind the center console
