My 14-year-old son and I have started tearing down a neglected ‘89 XLT. Thank you for posting so many helpful articles about your Broncos. I have found that using the search function has given me the confidence that we can complete our project.

There was some minor damage to body panels, that we have replaced from donor vehicles, and we are in the process of completely removing everything off of the frame.

The 302 was mostly scavenged when we got it, so we will need to decide on an engine. We want to keep the AOD, and change from an automatic to manual transfer case. We also are planning on a 4” lift on 35’s.

I am sure that plans will change throughout the build, and we will be documenting the build on Instagram @ 1989broncobuild

Thanks agian

Welcome, can't wait to see how it goes. Looks like a great body to start building on.
