Problem,

Bought "73 Bronco after research found the VIN that it titled under is from a "73 Ford F100" this Bronco was registered in two different states with this VIN. Found VIN on frame rail and of course not even close, and I have to get this beast registered.

Do I notify DMV in Tennessee where I am going to be living or try to get a corrected title from the state where it is currently registered, Florida still under previous owner title.

Thanks.......

if it has been signed over to you, then you should be able to get the title done in your name & state with the correct VIN. Is the VIN plate still on the glove box door and/or on the driver rear door pilar? If it is, then what you are probably going to have to do is a title search to make sure the vehicle isn't on a stolen vehicle list somewhere and then get it cleared that way. More pain in the rear because someone decided to grab the closest title they could find.

No glove box door and the on the drivers striker post is the VIN plate, which looks original for the 73 F-100.

Anyway thanks for the thoughts and I am going to contact the state DMV and see what they say?

Anyone else have any thoughts or have this happen to them I would like to read your solution/fix.

Just wondering how Tim's problem turned out.

I just got a '72 and the title is wrong also. The title say's "U156LP****" , the 6 should be the letter G. Should I have this fixed or just let it go? If I did try to fix it, what steps should I take, it is in Texas.

Thanks for any help
