I am going to replace all the rubber when I put her back together. I have got the top back from the paint shop and I need to put the windows back in it. I have seen it done with cord placed in the channel of the rubber then pulled into place. Is it better to go from the inside out or the outside in on these windows? I am open for other helpful hints also.

Outside in, it gives you more room to work and you dont have to fight with the top getting in your way if you just put it on a pair of saw horses. Take your time and it can go smoothly, and actually once you get it started it goes pretty fast.

I will give it try tomorow then. I have it on some saw horses now. I have heard that putting some lubricant on the rubber like vaselin helps?

Yep, I forgot that vaseline does help.

1. It makes wire slide easier

2. It makes the seal swell after it is in place to give it a better seat on the steel top.
