Window glass channel

I'm in the process of trying to replace the driver side glass on my bronco. However the window channel, rubber piece, and glass will not stay together for some reason. Should i use some type of glue or should it just stay together. thanks.

After a few years the rubber will age and eventually end up being too thin

to hold the channel in place.

Any glass shop should have a new piece of rubber for that.
