So I am driving down the road pulling a trailer. Wife and 6 week old baby in the backseat and I begin noticing puffs of white smoke in my rear view. Happened once before. Water pump went out and water was hitting exhaust manifold. I pull over and [pop the hood, but this time the smoke is worse and coming from the side of my block. Expecting the worst I walk over to the passenger side and look and oil has blown out from somewhere near the back spark plug. I **** it up, wipe back the tears and pray I can make it another 30 miles. We do and I pull into my parents driveway and the smoke is still coming. I look underneath and there is a beautiful strip of oil running from front to back. I head to Auto Zone and get a bottle of CDX 4 - " Gauranteed to stop all leaks "(fine print - Not applicable to cracks in the motor or gaskets). Well the smoke has subsided but there is a lag in the engine now and the temp gauge is fraking out. Is it true? Could it be? Will I have to give up my beast? NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Did you locate the exact point of the leak. Could be a seal, from the sound of it, the front one. A little troubleshooting could save you a whole bunch. What is the status of the radiator fluid? Worse comes to worse, a short block would only cost you about 900 bucks.

Good luck,

:)>-
